NABILLIA SMITH

I'm an empathic and warm Clinical Psychologist in private practice in Howick and Estcourt. Originally from Cape Town, I completed my Masters training at the University of the Western Cape. I relocated to KZN to complete my internship at Fort Napier Psychiatric Hospital and Townhill Psychiatric Hospital, and my Community Service at Estcourt Provincial Hospital. Throughout my training, I've been fortunate to work with individuals and families from all walks of life. I've learnt that we all experience challenges in our lives which may lead to unconscious emotional wounds and limiting beliefs which in turn lead to dysregulation, disconnection, pain, and unhelpful ways of coping. Therapy serves many needs, from managing crises, dealing with past experiences, and working towards greater self-understanding and growth. I provide individual therapy to adults and adolescents, and play therapy to children from age 5 years and older. My therapeutic modality and intervention methods are adapted according to the specific needs and strengths of each person. I offer a client-centred environment in which I get to know you and help you unpack the difficulty you are presently in.
